A commitment to service since 1943

In 1943, Mike and Margaret Paluck opened a “dry” store on Pioneer Boulevard in Sandy, Oregon. They took customer’s clothing to Gresham for cleaning and then back to their Sandy store for pickup. As the business grew and the community came to rely on the Paluck’s service and attention to detail, they moved to a larger space on Shelly Avenue.

Over the next decade the business continued to grow and was moved again to its present location on Proctor Boulevard. Dry cleaning equipment was added and a portion of the building was converted to a coin-operated Laundromat. A drapery department later replaced the Laundromat, then manufacturing of drapes as well as the pressing and pleating of cleaned drapes was added.

We’ve grown beyond Mt. Hood Cleaners

Still a family owned and operated business, Mike and Margaret’s sons, Brad and Ken Paluck, now have grown the business into many divisions beyond Mt. Hood Cleaners. Commercial services for window covering manufacture, installation and cleaning; commercial services for linens and bedding; affiliation with the Certified Restoration and Drycleaning Network have expanded the scope of the services offered. Company vehicles can be seen traveling throughout the area, from Salem to Madras to Vancouver, Washington.

A long-term commitment to our customers

Organizations such as Timberline Lodge have relied on Mt. Hood Cleaners for more than twenty years to keep linens and bedding clean and fresh. The Portland Timbers soccer team uses Mt. Hood’s exclusive Esporta system to clean the mascot costumes. Local high schools bring their band uniforms and athletic wear to Mt. Hood for cleaning.

Continuous training and industry involvement

Brad and Ken, while continuing to expand the company and its affiliates, have remained committed to providing top notch service by continually training their staff and using the latest techniques in drycleaning, restoration, laundering and more. They remain active in the drycleaning industry, participating in conferences and contributing their years of experience on advisory boards. Their expertise is brought to the insurance business through CRDN, the Certified Restoration and Drycleaning Network, where Brad serves on the advisory board, and the company is certified to train insurance staff on what can be expected when cleaning and restoring smoke-, fire-, and water-damaged items.

For more than 60 years, Mt. Hood Cleaners has been delivering exceptional service to the communities they reach. The family’s focus will continue to be the best choice for drycleaning and laundering, as well as the many other services they offer.

“We don’t cut corners, we’re all about quality and customer service.”
